    **I. Job Summary**

    Under general supervision, applies appropriate welds to fabricate or repair compactors, containers and carts.

    **II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

    + Performs minor repairs and applies basic welding processes.

    + Repairs compactors, containers and carts.

    + Performs preventive maintenance inspections, diagnostic and repair of electrical and hydraulic systems on compactors.

    + Qualified in the welding processes such as arc welding, gas welding, aluminum welding, brazing, and soft soldering on a variety of materials.

    + Conducts safety checks on compactors and containers.

    + Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing compactors and containers, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.

    + Performs related work such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, notching of metal and plastic parts.

    + Performs all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).

    + Performs standard layouts and set-ups of dimensions and tolerances.

    + Utilizes standard shop hand tools, measuring devices and equipment.

    + Performs other maintenance related work as required.

    + Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards.

    The Fabricating Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of machines and personnel associated with finishing activities including folding, gluing, waxing, stripping, and bundling. The Fabricating Supervisor is responsible for managing activities on the assigned shift in an efficient and safe manner.

    PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    Coordinate activity with the Production Manager and Shift Supervisor to plan and manage shift work orders, ensure quality requirements, and assure an even flow of work through the fabrication department to increase up-time and minimize unscheduled downtime.

    Schedule work, coordinate production activities, provide direct oversight of employees, approve time records, communicate and implement company policy. Engage in employee development activities, make recommendations on employee hire, promotion, and disciplinary action.

    Maintain a clean, safe and injury-free work environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are understood and executed by all employees.

    Conduct employee training on all equipment, protocols, production standards, safety regulations and waste control on an ongoing basis.

    Ensure completion of departmental operations within guidelines of continuous improvement policies.

    Supervise efficient operation of equipment including the inspection of materials, products and equipment to detect and/or prevent malfunctions.

    Analyze fabricating performance, identify opportunities, make recommendations for process and equipment improvement, establish goals and execute strategy.

    Participate in production meeting and provide updates as needed.

    Verify the quality of the jobs and investigate any customer complaints regarding finishing quality.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    High school diploma or GED.

    2+ years’ of corrugated manufacturing experience.

    Ability to work flexible hours when needed.

    Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Some college or manufacturing training.

    Previous supervisory experience with training, teambuilding, performance development, and conflict resolution.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    Working knowledge of standard corrugated and packaging manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures including continual improvement processes and safety practices.

    Knowledge of the machinery, methods and procedures in the department under supervision.

    Working knowledge of manufacturing systems including shop floor software.

    Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests.

    Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead and communicate with production team and management.

    Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects and/or requests concurrently.

    Solid analytical and mechanical ability.

    Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Previous work experience as a member of a team, or a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing between team members.

    What You'll Do

    Provide strategic leadership of Nucor Rebar Fabrication Placing Operations at Branch, including oversight and development of managers/supervisors and future leaders, coordinate with the Branch Manager and Branch Team to achieve strategic goals.

    Your Responsibilities

    Promote safety culture within branch and region and provide safety leadership by leading by example with a passionate attitude for the safety of all employees, office, fabrication and placing. Ensure that the contractor and or customer are aware of Nucor Rebar Fabrication Placings safety and production requirements and expectations. Work closely with the Branch Manager and branch team and placing team to ensure proper execution of Rebar Contractor Strategy. Be responsible for developing and ensuring successful long-term customer relationships with Branch Manager and branch team. Work with all departments to implement a sales and bidding strategy within the branch that promotes the Rebar Contractor Model Supply and Install package. Share best practice ideas with Branch Manager, Operations Lead and Detailing Supervisor, Placing Managers and Operations Managers for applicability at their branch and assist with implementation as appropriate. Review safety and production results on all projects to discover opportunities for improvement and assist with implementation as appropriate. Work with the Branch Manager on the development of a succession plan and subsequent training for team members with growth potential.     Your Qualifications

    At least 10 years experience with Rebar Installation with at least 5 years experience pricing installation. At least 5 years experience in a Supervisory Role including pricing and managing work.
