    Grand Canyon Education is seeking a Back End Web Development manger to join their Marketing Team. This position directs a team of back-end developers to execute all projects for web enhancements resulting in improved user experiences, increased rankings and overall implementation of web marketing plans which support clients’ total marketing strategy. This role operates in a performance based metric driven marketing department to ensure department services meet the client’s marketing objectives and performance metrics.

    Responsibilities:

    + Directly oversees team of backend developers, ensures quality of work as it relates to deliverables, core functionality and project scope.

    + Collaborates with the Business Analyst on execution and delivery of back-end development projects and deliverables while ensuring clear two-way communication of project expectations and requirements.

    + Collaborates with Web Design Manager on technical feasibility and strategy in implementation of user interface and user experience designs.

    This position is responsible for the development, creation, and generation of Meeting and Event Registration sites via the Cvent. If warranted, help support the Project Manager by managing registration once online registration opens. Provide guidance to and assist with training of other web developers.

    Responsibilities:

    + Ensure optimum customer service capability through effective development of web registration forms.

    + Web page development using HTML, Javascript, and Active Server Pages

    + Obtain necessary approval from Project Manager/Client regarding changes and final approval.

    + Generates tests to verify all pertinent data captured appropriately.

    + Maintain a complete and thorough understanding of customer program/event and keep abreast of all changes.

    + Communicate to operations manager any observed trends prior to program operation (i.e., customer complaints, inconsistent information flow)

    + Oversee and monitor attendee registration process and update Project Manager, Client and Suppliers as needed. May be required to provide daily or weekly registration updates to Project Manager and Client.

    + Collect, via CVENT registration tool, attendee payments as applicable and assist customer in payment reconciliation as necessary

    + May be asked to manage room blocks to ensure registration does not exceed availability. Work with Project Manager to determine any additional rooms needed. Review associated hotel addendum with Project Manager and consult with Project Manager at attrition cut-off dates.

    + Update revised room blocks accordingly in registration database.

    + Final quality control of all event reports (i.e., rooming list, arrival/departure manifest, activities roster, special requests noted and communicated) for assigned programs to ensure accuracy and completeness.

    + Work independently in the absence of supervision.

    + Create and update job related SOPs as requested.

    + Advise supervisor of changes in technology, enhancements and opportunities to improve service deliverables.

    + Assume and perform other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein, as requested.

    Qualifications:

    Essential:

    + FrontPage, Java, and JavaScript.

    + Minimum of five (5) years' experience in web technology, in a business environment.

    + Working knowledge of CRS Systems a plus

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.

    Preferred:

    + Knowledge and previous experience with meeting, event and incentive programs and participant registration
