    Summary

    About the Position: Serve as the civilian deputy to the Director, Data Science Directorate (DSD), United

    States Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM). Serve as a subject matter expert and consultant in all areas of data analytics, machine

    learning, and artificial intelligence as applied to DoDIN-A Operations and Defense, and

    business operations to senior leaders of the command and other government agencies.

    Responsibilities

    Direct, analyze, review, coordinate, and integrate the actions necessary to implement the data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence programs within the Army's Enterprise Information Environment Mission Area (EIEMA).

    Lead the analytical study efforts for teams of analysts engaged in data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence and business transformation analyses of DoD and Army Enterprise Information Systems initiatives.

    Provide leadership and the analytical study direction to Operations Research Analysts and Computer Scientists/Engineers who are organized into study teams.

    Technically and administratively supervise a team of Field Grade military and civilian personnel.

    Assign work to employees based on selective considerations of such factors as the difficulty and requirements of assignments, availability, capability, and special qualifications of employees, and workload.

    Apply the rigors of the operations research and data science disciplines to manpower and personnel analysis, service performance analysis, network analysis, monitoring, modeling, simulation, and optimization.

    Develop and issue written instructions and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance.

    Represent the command on a variety of liaison, advisory, and consulting assignments with key technical and management personnel.

At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing, reviewing, coordinating, and integrating the actions necessary to implement the Data Analysis and Cost and Economic Analysis; formulating program plans, policies, procedures, and programmatic guidance necessary for implementing the Cost and Economic Analysis Program; representing the organization on a variety of liaison, advisory, and consulting assignments; and advising and making recommendations on study direction to Operations Research Analysts and Computer Scientists/Engineers who are organized into study teams. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).     The Senior Operations Research Analyst and Simulation Developer I will participate in the

    development and implementation of model-based solutions

    to support mission trade studies and performance simulations and to ensure they meet defined requirements and functions.

    The Senior Operations Research Analyst and Simulation Developer I will be expected to analyze and positively affect simulation execution performance. The Senior Operations Research Analyst and Simulation Developer I will require knowledge of performance engineering practices and procedures as a discipline in order to

    perform non-repetitive effective analytical work across a wide range of challenging computational problems .
