    Position Summary:

    The Engineering Technician provides essential support to the team of engineers at our Mesa, Arizona facility, facilitating the execution and improvement of propellant, pyrotechnic, and explosive manufacturing operations. This position plays a crucial role in offering technical engineering assistance for various projects, including new initiatives, ongoing production efforts, and engineering advancements. The engineering technician is responsible for meticulously collecting and documenting all necessary data points, monitoring processes and key performance indicators (KPIs), and providing training to our dedicated manufacturing technicians. They also take charge of authoring, updating, and redlining process documentation, developing comprehensive work instructions, conducting Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), and ensuring the diligent implementation of work instructions as directed by the engineering team. In addition, the technician assumes the responsibility of understanding the function and limits of processing equipment, as well as comprehending how changes in equipment settings can significantly impact the outcomes of the manufacturing process. This expertise allows them to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process failures swiftly and effectively.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Safely process propellants, pyrotechnics, and/or explosives for product development or improvement to meet program requirements, applying basic engineering level principles.

    • Prepare detailed technical reports documenting work progression and results.

    • Troubleshoot equipment and processes to identify and resolve issues promptly.

    • Ensure safe working conditions by identifying potential risks associated with tasks and implementing appropriate safety measures.

    • Provide comprehensive training to manufacturing operators, equipping them with the necessary skills for their roles.

    • Review and assess the results of experiments and analyses conducted in conjunction with engineering.

    Perform tests and sampling of environmental materials including air, groundwater, building materials, and noise. Operates field monitoring equipment. Assists with operation and maintenance of remediation systems. May assist with asbestos surveys, abatement projects and Phase I preliminary site assessments. Transport material samples or documents to the lab for further testing and analysis. Tabulate and prepare data for written reports. Cleans and maintains field monitoring equipment.
