About You:

As a Wastewater Technician, you are part of Best People . You are one of the subject matter experts as it relates to operating the wastewater treatment plant equipment to ensure reliability, economy, and compliance with all effluent requirements at the site. You report to our site WWT Contract Manager to monitor and adjust plant operation including specific chemical treatment processes using pumps, valves, motors, and chemical feed systems. Your primary processes include batch tank treatment of process wastewater, clarification, plate and frame sludge processing, pH control, sand filter operation, reverse osmosis system, skid mounted clean-in-place systems, E-coat treatment, oil separation, and paint sludge systems including chemical feed pumps, sludge bag removal, and water testing. Your passion for providing exceptional customer service contributes to our world-class customer service reputation. + This is a physically demanding job – must be able to work in hot and damp environments, wear heavy PPE, climb stairs, push equipment, and stand/walk for extended periods of time.

**Job Responsibilities**

+ Lead the post-processing operations of 3D-printed models.

+ Train team members on the post-processing tasks required to produce quality 3D-printed models.

+ Operate 3D Printing equipment to start prints and perform routine and rotational maintenance on a regular schedule to produce highly accurate medical device prototypes in a timely manner.

+ Provide effective communication with BD (leaders & coworkers) and external partners daily.

+ Understands the “what/when/why/how/who” for all post-processing procedures. Drives process enhancement/optimization and oversees changes to finishing processes and procedures.

+ Clean and post-process 3D-printed models via hand finishing and secondary processes such as ultrasonic cleaning, sandblasting, water blasting, hand sanding, polishing, and painting while maintaining accuracy and visual aesthetics.

+ Clean 3D Printed models according to defined standard operating procedures.

+ Under the direction of the 3D Printing and Prototyping Manager, define, perform, and present results for R&D of 3D printing applications and be able to function independently.

+ Maintain proficiency in manipulating model files using CAD software (i.e. - Magics by Materialise or OEM-supplied software programs) to verify geometries before building/finishing.

+ Use precision measurement devices (i.e. – digital calipers, Keyence, GOM) to ensure dimensional accuracy.

+ Maintain finishing supplies in the laboratory and evaluate special supplies, techniques, and equipment that may be beneficial for quality model finishing.

+ Work in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices; observe all BD Safety and Quality Standards and maintain laboratory notebook according to BD Standard Operating Procedures. Ensures that all safety needs, including training, are met.

+ Wear proper safety equipment where required and ensure others comply with BDTI safety standards.

+ Actively utilize the Digital Engineering database to update progress on ongoing jobs and prioritize business unit requests.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

**Education and Experience**

+ High School Diploma Required plus 6 years relevant hands-on industry experience with proven ability to perform model finishing, industrial 3D printer operation, experimentation, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.

+ BS plus 3 years of relevant industry experience

+ Experience operating 3D printing equipment is required. Examples include stereolithography (SLA), Carbon (DLS), DLP, PolyJet 3D Printing, and Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF).

+ Proven computer experience, including the ability to use CAD software.

+ Organized and time-oriented individual with the ability and drive to contribute towards the quick turn-around time on finished models while ensuring fine detail and accuracy.

+ Open to exploring new techniques related to 3D Printing or Digital Engineering-related areas.

**Knowledge and Skills**

+ MS Office (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

+ Coordinate/facilitate all environmental training for Site (Hazmat, Waste Treatment, SPCC/SWPP, etc.). Administer training programs for safety accident prevention and protection and may support environmental management systems.

+ Drive excellence through active participation on the production floor to adopt a - ZERO TOLERANCE MENTALITY - toward SH&E losses and drive elimination of losses through the framework of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and NCE.

+ Provides SH&E functional and technical expertise/coaching as needed in all areas and initiatives of the function. Partners with other key functions on initiatives including engineering, HR, Quality, Operations, NCE, etc to deliver on goals and plans.

**EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:**

+ Bachelor's Degree in environmental and/or safety discipline or related disciplines or international equivalents is strongly preferred.

+ At least 2-5 years’ experience in successfully coordinating Safety, Health, and Environmental sustainability activities in a manufacturing setting. Experience with OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations and local equivalents and their application to Site operations.

+ Professional certifications in SH&E related fields are considered beneficial and may include CIH, NEBOSH Certificate, ASP, AEM, etc.

+ Interpretation of customer production specifications in the form of drawings (blueprints), text, samples or application requirements.

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

+ Repetitive to non-repetitive assembly and testing, disassembly, analysis, repair and rework, reassembly and test of aircraft components in support of FAA Repair Station.

+ Familiar with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.

+ Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and rework aircraft components in accordance with established procedures, and provide recommendations on steps need to return to service in accordance with FAA and other regulations.

+ Performs manual assembly / disassembly, operation of automated assembly equipment, hand soldering, operation of automated test equipment, and inspection and repair of products.

+ In addition will perform machine and line setups, feeder repairs and first line preventative maintenance.
