    Duties & Responsibilities

    An Assistant ResearchScientist in the Peti Group will have a critical role in the progress ofexperiments proposed in the NIH grant, which focuses on antibiotic resistanceof PBP5 from E facium.

    Primary Duties:


    * Responsible for the expression and purification of all necessary proteins, including p53, PP1 designer inhibitor proteins and other ser/thr protein phosphatases, including PP2A coenzymes.
    * Responsible for the cell culture work to establish the functionality of PP1 designer inhibitor proteins in cells - making samples for MS analysis - including BioID samples.
    * Responsible for planning and executing research program(s) and will participate in writing documents and manuscripts.
    * Analyzing the complex signaling network of the protein phosphatase 2A, 4, 6 and 7.
    * Defining new drug interaction sites on these phosphatases.
    * Analyzing and summarizing data; writing reports and manuscripts of these data.
    * Helping with training of graduate students.
