    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    The purpose of the position is to perform work necessary to install, test, integrate, maintain, and modify IT systems.

    + Provide engineering technician support for computer systems that operate or are involved in the operation and maintenance of the Yuma Desalting Plant (YDP) and Water Quality Improvement Center (WQIC).

    + Provide primary engineering support for plant control and data collection systems and will ensure Department of Project Management Office (DPMO) compliance with Information Technology (IT).

This requires extensive familiarity with the YDP and the WQIC and their related operations and processes, including both hardware and software . (Familiarity training will be provided by staff personnel.

    + Perform PIMS administrative and development tasks, including system maintenance and upgrades, developing new screens to depict operating equipment and instrument readings, and troubleshooting existing data readouts to resolve problems.

    + Update systems and databases to reflect changes occurring from maintenance, operations, and research projects done in the YDP or WQIC.

Responsibilities also include execution of scripts and results analysis diagnosing failures and taking appropriate action to resolve. Works with Automation Architect Lead to identify functionality and enhancements to the framework. The SDET is actively involved in a scrum team and will gain a strong understanding of the product under test. Promotes, establishes, and improves standards and processes, and overall QA effectiveness. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Create reusable, extendable, and sustainable automation test case suite by influencing design for testing strategies within the scrum teams Monitor automated testing progress and results, make modifications and adjustments able to articulate automation progress with confidence Estimate automation efforts identify and suggest strategies for meeting project deadlines Identifies, communicates, and provides solutions to issues that impact automation efforts and or project schedule Subject Matter Expert on assigned project show growing depth of product knowledge Creates, ensures adherence, and maintains appropriate standards and quality procedures within scrum team Escalates to Automation Lead and or Quality Assurance Manager as needed in a clear, concise, and timely manner Mentor other scrum team members to expand knowledge and abilities of others to perform automated testing Actively cultivate collaborative relationships across the team, business units and cross division partners Identify, influence, promote and drive forward Quality Assurance best practices for both manual and automated testing
