A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) invites applications for a part-time, exempt CCU Clinical Faculty - Assistant Professor, General Dentist on the Mesa, Arizona campus. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Clinic Operations. Summary The PPGRU's mission is to increase the productivity, profitability and sustainability of agriculture in arid environments by developing new germplasm for both traditional and alternative crops and by improving plant responses to abiotic stresses and to changes in the global environment. Emphasis is placed on oilseeds crops used for food, and biofuels, and establish new industrial and bioenergy crops for semi-arid regions. **ANNOUNCEMENT IS OPEN UNTIL FILLED OR FEBRUARY 5, 2025** Responsibilities Provide technical and professional guidance to develop and implement novel molecular biology and genomic solutions to improve industrial oil crops.. Conduct research, in collaboration with other ARS scientists and with academic and private industry scientists, as needed. Develop improved plant populations including double haploid (DH) populations and carry out activities including nursery design, planting, crossing, phenotypic characterization and sample collection for DNA marker activities. Establish a double haploid (DH) protocols, including culture media preparation, plating anthers, transfer callus and plantlets in various growth chambers and greenhouses. Lead establishment of processes and practices related to industrial crops molecular breeding methodologies including developing DNA markers for marker-assisted selection (MAS) and genomic selection (GS). Support the applications of genomic and transcriptomic tools in breeding programs. Implement, interpret, report and present results from laboratory, greenhouse, and field studies. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position requires a Ph.D in the plant sciences, plant genetics, plant breeding or related fields or a related field of study that has equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Applicants must meet basic Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standard's requirements of the scientific discipline necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. 0401 Series - General Natural Resources Management and Biological Sciences Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. Or Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. 0440 Series - Genetics Degree: genetics; or one of the basic biological sciences that included at least 9 semester hours in genetics. Graduate Education: Genetics, or a curriculum or pattern of training that placed major emphasis on genetics. Graduate study in related fields such as agronomy, horticulture, animal, dairy, or poultry husbandry, entomology, microbiology, plant pathology, chemistry, molecular and cellular biology, and physiology that involved cross-training in genetics is qualifying, provided it placed sufficient emphasis on genetics. Evaluation of Education: Most students in the field take graduate work because specific training in genetics may be limited at the undergraduate level. Under these circumstances, it may be necessary to evaluate undergraduate course work in genetics in one of two ways, as described below, to determine whether or not it is qualifying. Courses dealing with genetics, some phase of genetics, or specific techniques that are applied in genetics work are acceptable. This includes courses in genetics, plant or animal genetics, molecular and cellular biology, mathematics and statistics (as they apply to genetics), population dynamics, and certain techniques such as those dealing with irradiation. Course work consisting of an appropriate combination of basic courses in genetics and cytology or statistics are also acceptable. In Addition to the Qualification Requirements outlined above, the incumbent will require the education and experience outlined below. A PhD in the molecular plant sciences, plant genetics, plant breeding or related fields. Working knowledge of current methods used in plant biology, including techniques used in plant genetics and genomics and tissue cultures techniques such as anther and microspore cultures are required. Ability to develop new molecular markers. Knowledge of QTL/candidate gene discovery for genes controlling abiotic stresses using transcriptome analysis and QTL/gene mapping are desired. Still University's Arizona School of Health Sciences (ATSU-ASHS) invites applications for a full-time faculty member in the program in speech-language pathology in the Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. We are seeking vibrant and innovative individuals at the assistant professor level. Appointment will be for 12 months with rank and salary commensurate with academic credentials and experience. The cornerstone of the program is the education of speech-language pathologists with a focus in culturally responsive practices. We are seeking faculty with expertise in the areas of speech, language and swallowing disorders and across the lifespan with an emphasis on school based, Autism, fluency and AAC experience. The program provides a wide spectrum of state-of the art medical speech pathology instrumentation and equipment for student education and faculty research.

Individuals with strong research portfolios are especially desired. The program seeks to develop a rich scholarly environment for its students supported by the research and grantsmanship of the faculty.

Responsibilities include graduate teaching both on-campus and virtual, maintaining an active research agenda, academic advising, oversight of student research projects, professional and scholarly activities, and service to the university and community. The program will not have an on-campus clinic, but engagement in the support of student clinical experiences is required. The ideal candidate will also be interested in participating in collaborative clinical and research programs.

+ Assist the DDE and Chair in the development, content, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum for programs within the PA Department.

+ Monitor student progress with assistance from instructors; serve as a primary academic advisor for a cohort of students.

+ Review educational literature and learning media to keep faculty abreast of new teaching/learning strategies.

**Major Job Duties:**

This includes consultation, treatment planning, and direct patient care in coordination with student providers, CCU directors and other specialty faculty as needed.

+ Oversee the development, implementation, revision and assessment of curriculum as assigned, integrating periodontics with other predoctoral curriculum, including behavioral, biomedical and clinical sciences.

+ Documentation: Complete documentation on student performance/progress towards competency; review and approve EHR documentation in clinic and simulation lab.

+ Support Director of Periodontics to coordinate with responsible Administrators, Asst/Assoc Deans in Clinic and Pre-Clinics, and Director of Clinic Operations to establish protocols related to curriculum responsibility areas; enforce clinic policy including infection control, QI, risk management, record keeping, assure safety and supervision and direction of clinic support staff.

**Education & Experience:**

+ DDS degree required.

+ Excellent communication, problem solving, crisis management and organizational skills, high emotional intelligence, tact and diplomacy.

+ Must be able to be self-directed and take initiative; role model life-long learning and critical thinking skills.

+ Must possess a high degree of in-depth knowledge and surgical skills in the field of Periodontics and dental implant surgery; be willing and able to act as a chair-side clinical faculty instructor (e.g., direct patient care; clinic demonstration, direct student observation of clinical activity).

+ Effectively carry out lecture, seminar and clinical assignments and responsibilities as assigned, including appropriate student assessment.

+ Be readily available to students for mentoring and consultation.

+ Other duties as assigned.

**Education & Experience:**

+ DDS/DMD degree required.

+ 3-5 years experience within patient care providing prosthodontic and advanced and restorative dentistry including CAD/CAM techniques.

+ Excellent communication and organizational skills; must be self-directed and take initiative; highly skilled in all phases of clinical general dentistry.

+ A willingness to support and participate in a collegial environment among students, faculty, and staff.
