Humana's Clinical Strategy and Analytics (CS&A) Team is seeking a Research Scientist 2 (Remote).

The Research Scientist 2 applies mathematical, statistical, and epidemiologic principles to identify trends, assess variable associations or cause-effect relationships, and size potential opportunities using high volumes of complex data. The Research Scientist 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation of data/information and independent judgement.

As a Research Scientist, you will:

+ Collaborate with analytic and business teams to set objectives, approaches, and work plans

+ Leverage a wide range of analytics methods ranging from descriptive to prescriptive to transform high volumes of complex data into analytics solutions and actional insights

+ Collaborate with clinicians and clinical informaticists to define various clinical concepts and extract clinical information from medical, pharmacy, and lab claims for analytics and modeling purposes

**Required Qualifications**

+ Master's Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Economics, Statistics, Clinical Informatics, Mathematics, Data Science, Data Analysis and/or related fields

+ Demonstrated strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

+ Demonstrated strong interest in healthcare and desire to make a positive impact on population health

+ Flexible, dynamic personality who can work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team

+ 2+ years of experience in applying mathematics, statistics, epidemiologic or econometric principals to transform high volumes of complex data into actionable insights

+ Clear and concise oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex methodologies and analytical results to higher-level business insights and key takeaways

+ Proficient in manipulating and analyzing data with at least one of the programming languages such as Python, R

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Healthcare or managed care working experience

+ Experience working with medical, pharmacy, lab claims

+ Experience working with big data and using PySpark, Spark R or Spark Scala

+ Experience with causal inference and causal machine learning techniques, and/or advanced machine learning algorithms such as deep learning, NLP, recommender system, network analysis.

+ Familiarity with clinical concepts related to a broad range of clinical conditions and disease states, such as oncology, falls, palliative care, behavioral health and other chronic conditions

+ Deep understanding of healthcare payer economics, and/or other specific healthcare areas such as EMR, Episode grouper, utilization management, value-based care, low value care etc.

**Responsibilities**

As a Research Scientist on the Clinical Analytics team, you will:

+ Do exploratory analysis on populations, trends, and clinical conditions to inform potential opportunities for trend savings and clinical outcomes improvement for our members.

+ Develop models and/or rules using clinical condition in claims data, membership data, or other data sources in order to target at-risk members who will benefit most from clinical interventions.

+ Design outcomes studies and perform program evaluation using randomized controlled trials, propensity matching, difference-in-difference models, or other experimental/quasi-experimental methods.

+ Discover key drivers of intervention enrollment and engagement and evaluate ways to improve.

+ Conduct literature reviews and intervention research to assess engagement rates and treatment effect sizes of interventions that are in the early stages of design and implementation.

+ Collaborate effectively with data teams, analytic teams, finance teams, product owners, clinicians, informaticists, leaders, and other business partners to align on objectives, approaches, and work plans.

+ Write code in SQL, SAS, and Python to assemble data, create analytic variables/features, design visuals and charts, and statistical models for research/science use-cases.

+ Present your analytical plans, study protocols, intervention theories of change, and analytical work to business partners in slide decks in a way that is easy to understand.

+ Create and maintain content for insights memos, lessons learned, training, and team assets.

+ Manage and prioritize work to delivery quality analysis in a timely manner and communicate clear expectations with business partners.

A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) invites applications for a part-time, exempt CCU Clinical Faculty - Assistant Professor, General Dentist on the Mesa, Arizona campus. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Clinic Operations. The clinical faculty will conduct teaching, patient care, scholarly and service activities in support of the mission, goals, and objectives of the School and University with the primary responsibility to facilitate the students’ clinical experience from foundational knowledge and clinical skills to demonstrating competency in patient-centered care that integrates biomedical, behavioral and clinical sciences.

**Duties & Responsibilities:**

+ General – promote an atmosphere of respect, collegiality, commitment to diversity and social justice, and a humanistic learning environment.

+ General – conduct teaching, scholarship, service, and patient care in support of the mission and goals of ASDOH and ATSU.

+ Teaching – clinical supervision as a general dentist in the CCUs or other ASDOH clinics; effectively carry out lectures, seminars, preclinical and clinical assignments as assigned.

+ Service – Participate in committees, faculty governance, professional societies and associations, and community events.

+ Effectively carry out lecture, seminar and clinical assignments and responsibilities as assigned, including appropriate student assessment.

**Education & Experience:**

+ DDS or DMD, with eligibility for an Arizona dental license.

+ Knowledge of contemporary techniques and skills in the scope of general dentistry.

+ At least three years experience in private practice or advanced graduate training as a general dentist or prosthodontist.

+ Experience in clinical dental teaching is preferred.

Summary This position is located in Grand Canyon National Park, in the Resource Management Division. Responsibilities The wildlife biologist serves as the project manager for the Grand Canyon bison reduction project. In cooperation with appropriate staff, researchers, and partners, the wildlife biologist designs, develops, tests, and implements protocols to identify, evaluate, and do long-term monitoring of the bison reduction project. The wildlife biologist coordinates the park's bison management strategies and programs with those on adjacent lands for the purposes of achieving broad ecosystem protection strategies. The wildlife biologist resolves most problems that arise and coordinates the work both within the work unit and with other park divisions. Independent judgement is required on a regular basis in developing, testing, and refining bison reduction procedures and methods, and in the application of these methods in the field. The wildlife biologist develops and carries out statistically valid data collection protocols for the monitoring of bison populations and the results of bison reduction, including mitigation and resource restoration programs. Organizes, schedules, and executes the Parks Threatened and Endangered species monitoring projects (Mexican Spotted Owl, California Condor, Southwestern Willow Flycatcher, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Ridgways Rail) by selecting site locations, sampling techniques, appropriate equipment, logistics, etc. Manages seasonal staff, interns, and VIPs working on the above-mentioned projects. Assists the Wildlife Program Manager in the preparation of the Wildlife sections of planning documents as assigned. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) invites applications for a part-time, exempt CCU Clinical Faculty - Assistant Professor, General Dentist on the Mesa, Arizona campus. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Clinic Operations. The clinical faculty will conduct teaching, patient care, scholarly and service activities in support of the mission, goals, and objectives of the School and University with the primary responsibility to facilitate the students’ clinical experience from foundational knowledge and clinical skills to demonstrating competency in patient-centered care that integrates biomedical, behavioral and clinical sciences.
