**Responsibilities**

Clinical Research Specialist Position Duties:

Ensures assigned studies are conducted in accordance with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) Good Clinical Practices (GCP) Institutional Review Board (IRB) HIPAA regulations and institutional requirements which include but are not limited to the following duties:

+ Knowledge of regulatory requirements and institutional requirements when conducting study protocol(s).

+ Assists with participant recruitment including pre-screening potential participant follow-up and collaboration with Investigators.

+ With the Investigators coordinates research subject informed consent and enrollment into appropriate research studies.

+ Coordinates and/or performs a variety of procedures/tests including but not limited to laboratory tests/phlebotomy vital signs ECG outcomes assessments cognitive evaluations as well as other needs as outlined in the study protocol(s).

+ Obtains medical history medical records and all other procedures outlined in the study protocol(s) within the allowed timelines.

+ Responds to patient inquiries via phone or in person in a timely manner.

+ Processing and shipment of laboratory samples collected as outlined in the study protocol(s).

+ Provides participant education with the Investigators research pharmacists and other members of the research study team such as study specific procedures diary/study log proper dosage/administration and specific restrictions as outlined in the study protocol(s).

+ Completes case report forms data entry and maintains source documentation for all study participants.

+ Prepares for participant visits including scheduling and source document creation.

+ Triages tracks and reports adverse events and deviations to the Investigator as well as the sponsor and IRB in accordance to their requirements.

+ Coordinates research monitor visits and responds to all data queries in a timely manner.

**Qualifications**

**Requirements:**

Minimum 2 years related experience required.

Competent in computer skills including the Microsoft Office products required.

Associates degree in related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/ or job-related experience in lieu of degree required.

**Preferred:**

Three (3) years clinical research experience preferred

Bachelors Degree in related field preferred.

Position Summary:

Performs clinical testing in assigned areas of the laboratory to aid in the diagnosis of disease, estimation of patient status, and determination of lifestyle and genetic effects on health. Specializes and/or assumes responsibility for a specific section of the laboratory.

Minimum Qualifications:

*Minimum Education*
(2) (i) Have earned an associate degree in laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or
(ii) Have education and training equivalent to that specified in
paragraph (b)(2)(i) of this section that includes—
(A) At least 60 semester hours, or equivalent from an accredited institution that, at a minimum, include either:
(1) 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses; or
(2) 24 semester hours of science courses that include—
(i) Six semester hours of chemistry;
(ii) Six semester hours of biology; and
(iii) Twelve semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination; and
(B) Have laboratory training that includes either of the following:
(1) Completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by the ABHES, the CAHEA, or other organization approved by HHS. (This training may be included in the 60 semester hours listed in paragraph (b)(2)(ii)(A) of this section.)
(2) At least 3 months documented laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing.
(3) Have previously qualified or could have qualified as a technologist under § 493.1491 on or before February 28, 1992;
(4) On or before April 24, 1995 be a high school graduate or equivalent and have either—
(i) Graduated from a medical laboratory or clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by ABHES, CAHEA, or other organization approved by HHS; or
(ii) Successfully completed an official U.S. military medical laboratory procedures training course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician);

POSITION SUMMARY

This position performs waived and non-waived tests as defined by CLIA ‘88 in an accurate and timely manner with supervision. Assists with department compliance with all pertinent laboratory accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA ’88, JCAHO, CAP, OSHA). Personnel report to department supervisor.

1. Performs testing in an accurate and timely manner according to established policies and performance standards with a knowledge level determined for that testing. Responsible for startup, calibration and accuracy of procedures and instrumentation. Exercises independent judgment and can identify appropriate resources in performance of assigned duties utilizing knowledge and skills. Demonstrates comprehension of theory and clinical relevance of testing. Demonstrates problem resolution and decision making skills for routine operational and technical problems. 2. Recognizes and ensures validity of abnormal patient and/or QC results for testing. Ensures accuracy of test results. Promotes and consistently meets department standards for productivity and quality.

3. Ensures the appropriate use of supplies and materials and assists with inventory management. Ensures efficient utilization of reagents and supplies. Recognizes and provides input towards opportunities for improvements in financial performance to decrease costs, improve productivity, and improve service.

4. Self-directed and motivated to contribute to projects identified by the supervisor, with the completion of a minimum of one project per year. Seeks out opportunities to identify projects relating to department needs. Active in training and competency of laboratory personnel. Performs well in supervisor’s absence and provides guidance on issues relating to pre-analytical, waived and non-waived testing. Completes training module for newly hired/transferred personnel.

+ Associate’s Degree in medical laboratory science, OR

+ Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical or biological science, OR

+ Basic Computer skills.

+ Students may be hired at the job title equivalent to their future certification under the following conditions: Student is enrolled in a clinically recognized program (MLT), student’s clinical rotation in the core area must be completed prior to working in that core area and student must complete the MLT program within one year of hire.

Overview

This is a role in Stability & Surveillance (S&S) in Oncology Assay Development (OAD) organization. The team is responsible for real-time stability testing to support expiration dating of company reagents, as packaged under recommended storage conditions, to ensure that label claims are met throughout a product’s shelf life. The stability team members work closely across various Pathology Customer Area (RTD) functions, including Tissue procurement & Histology (BAM), Medical Office, Development, Lifecycle, Investigation & Resolution, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Global Organizations.

This individual will primarily perform the supporting (Tissue Qualification) activities necessary for monitoring of the commercial products as packaged under recommended storage conditions over a period. Activities may include tissue qualification & block search process; stability testing to confirm that products meet specifications; data management; participating in evaluating and reporting results; generating required documentation/procedures/technical reports in support of daily activities. Additional tasks/projects may be assigned based on team needs. This individual will mainly interact with internal stability team members, Pathology/ Medical office, and Tissue (Bio-specimen) Management; interactions with other cross-functional groups will be dependent on special circumstances or assignments.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science required

• Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry , Molecular Biology, Microbiology preferred

• 2 years of relevant job experience required

• Background in immunohistochemistry, histology/pathology, pharmaceutical chemistry, analytical chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or biomedical engineering preferred

POSITION SUMMARY

This position performs waived and non-waived tests as defined by CLIA ‘88 in an accurate and timely manner with supervision. Assists with department compliance with all pertinent laboratory accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA ’88, JCAHO, CAP, OSHA). Personnel report to department supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

+ Associate’s Degree in medical laboratory science, OR

+ Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical or biological science, OR

+ Have successfully completed military training of 50 or more weeks and served as a medical laboratory specialist. Military must be a high school graduate or equivalent.

+ Basic Computer skills.

+ Students may be hired at the job title equivalent to their future certification under the following conditions: Student is enrolled in a clinically recognized program (MLT), student’s clinical rotation in the core area must be completed prior to working in that core area and student must complete the MLT program within one year of hire.

**Responsibilities**

Performs various support functions in research laboratory using proper procedures to avoid the risk of laboratory-acquired infection or sample-to-sample contamination. Maintains and cleans equipment and the facility; maintains and restocks supplies; and maintains computer database. Works under direct supervision. Attention to detail is essential while dealing with multiple tasks. Flexibility is important in adjusting to frequent changes in work volume.

**Qualifications**

Requires a high school diploma or GED. Coursework in mathematics and relevant sciences. Must have previous work experience that demonstrates organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task. Requires manual dexterity, accurate typing, and good communication skills. Must be able to prioritize and adjust to changes in work volume. Experience with Excel software is preferred.
