The Infection Preventionist will shape and interpret the standards required to ensure safe and quality outcomes. The data-driven Infection Preventionist will be responsible for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data regarding organizational infection patterns and trends. With these data trends, the Infection Preventionist will develop an action plan to reverse these negative trends. Seasonal outbreaks, procedural antiseptic techniques, isolation usage techniques, personal protective equipment usage, hand hygiene, and more will all be monitored by the analytical Infection Preventionist. Reporting communicable diseases to the State and county will be a part of the Infection Preventionists job responsibilities. The Infection Preventionist will educate staff and community members on effective infection prevention and isolation techniques based on the results of their data. While educating and researching, the Infection Preventionist will foster positive working relationships with providers, nurses, and ancillary staff members. This data will be used by the Infection Preventionist to create policies and procedures that prevent and reduce incidences of healthcare-acquired infections.
