    Adult Health (Medical-Surgical) Nursing

    The focus of this course is on the needs of adult patients and their families in relation to health promotion and management of conditions that require acute and chronic care. The nursing process is used in the discussion of health alterations affecting selected life processes. Students continue their professional skill development as members of the health team.

    Clinical teaching is typically scheduled for at least one weekday, weeknight, or weekend (multiple schedule options may be available) for an 8-week session at a clinical partner site. Chamberlain students experience practice settings that include large and small hospitals, long-term care facilities, community and public-health agencies, faith-based service organizations, independent practices, ambulatory care centers, public health agencies, military services (Army, Navy, and Air Force), VA Medical Centers, schools, home health environments…anywhere healthcare is delivered.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    The Education Coordinator, under the direction of the Branch Director and working in conjunction with the Youth Development Supervisor, is responsible for developing, implementing, organizing, and supervising all education programming at the Branch.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Program Development & Implementation:

    • Develops, organizes, and implements all education programs and activities utilizing a formal curriculum.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Course/Workshop/Small Group/Didactic Day Support:

    + Track and schedule post rotation examinations for Clinical Education, which includes arranging for the needs of students with approved examination accommodations.

    + Enter and track grades for assignments, quizzes, examinations, attendance, and participation points

    + Update, maintain and collect data from course-related Canvas materials/Top Hat programs

    + Prepare exams for upload into Testing Center software

    + Coordinate copying of handouts with Copy Center

    + Maintain communications with students and faculty with regards to schedules, presentations, examinations, and newly implemented software and policy changes

    + Schedule off-site lectures

    + Send out and track return of Preceptor Student Evaluation forms of assigned rotations

    + Interface with Department Chairs and/or Associate Dean of Clinical Education concerning findings on Preceptor Student Evaluations
