    Work you'll do

    As a Pursuit Writer/Editor on our team you will:

    + Have direct accountability for writing/editing aspects of the proposal group operations:

    + Author/edit critically proposal sections with the ability to provide advice to Pursuit Managers and client service teams

    + Make significant contributions to the development and continuous improvement of proposal management processes, tools, and templates

    + Ensure documents are clear, concise, and grammatically correct

    + Edit content for grammar, one-voice, words to avoid, in accordance with RFP requirements and Deloitte Quality Assurance standards

    + Support development, perform interviews, provide analysis, evaluate, and develop content for Past Performance and Resumes per RFP requirements

    + Provide the appropriate guidance concerning the required methodologies, procedures, tools, and templates to support GPS proposal development efforts - as directed by Corporate Deloitte (brand and RFP/RFI compliant requirements)

    + Provide the ability to handle multiple, concurrent projects

    + Adjust to shifting priorities, stringent deadlines, last minute requirements, and frequent evening/weekend hours to accomplish tasks within non-negotiable client deadlines

    + Develop customized pursuit style guides, acronym lists and glossaries per RFP requirements and firm standards

    Act as the central point for the proposal development process (when directed):

    + Evaluate the solicitation requirements

    + Manage a timely process by meeting or exceeding all deadlines

    + Work with the technical teams to develop content that is clear, effective and consistent

    + Demonstrate and contributing techniques and experience as appropriate for each situation

    + Guide proposal teams with less experience, in developing a strategic approach:

    + Acting in a strategic role, from pre-RFP to oral presentation stages to enhance the likelihood of a win based on requirements and client knowledge

    + Brainstorming solutions with the proposal teams to provide experience-based advice with the ability to drive strategy and solutions that result in winning submissions

    + Coordinate with the account team and other teammates to tackle assignments in the most effective and efficient way possible; communicate with teammates in real time to ensure a consistent, streamlined document

    Contribute to the development of Deloitte's proposal team in:

    Qualifications

    Required

    + Possess approximately 2 - 5 years of related experience

    + Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with proven experience with preferred concentration in Business, English, Journalism, Marketing or Communications

    + Excellent communicator - both written and oral

    + Experience leading teams in discussions or brainstorming approaches for proposal sections/approaches

    + Experience in public speaking and presentations

Topics must contain specific and actionable recommendations and describe the supporting evidence. Updating is an equally important component of the work and is usually initiated by the Physician Editor, who is responsible for monitoring the literature for new developments and identifying topics that need updating. Extensive editorial training by at least two senior Physician Editors is provided to help the editor learn critical skills for evaluating the literature and creating content in the UpToDate style. All editorial work is reviewed by the training editors until the new Physician Editor achieves a satisfactory level of independence.

    Physician Editors can be trained remotely and can work from anywhere in the United States. However, work hours should significantly overlap with standard work hours in the Eastern time zone to allow for regular interaction with other Physician Editors. Editing requires 80 to 90% FTE. In the remaining 10 to 20% time, most Physician Editors remain involved in patient care activities, using their clinical experience to help ensure UpToDate content is maximally useful at the point of care.     **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

    **Principal Clinical Content - Physician Editors** review and edit the new contributions from our external expert authors to make sure they address the questions that a practicing clinician might have. Topics must contain specific and actionable recommendations and describe the supporting evidence. Updating is an equally important component of the work and is usually initiated by the Physician Editor, who is responsible for monitoring the literature for new developments and identifying topics that need updating. Physician Editors also systematically review existing topics for clarity, completeness, and clinical relevance. This work is not done in isolation. UpToDate editors work closely with outside authors, section editors, editors-in-chief, and peer reviewers to ensure the material is accurate and free of bias.
