    + Develop and coordinate a regular, monthly calendar of activities, as well as special event and holiday programs as necessary.

    + Complete various administrative tasks, such as keeping attendance records, ordering and maintaining necessary supplies and equipment, regularly publishing activities calendar in public places, and ensuring resident mail is delivered daily.

    + Facilitate any offsite visits as necessary by coordinating offsite activities and transportation while being diligent about resident whereabouts.

    + Work directly with Activity Assistants in providing group or individual activities, and use support of other floor staff as necessary. Train and communicate with clinical staff about residents’ needs related to activities and social interactions.

    + Coordinate the need for volunteers and develop schedules as needed. Create initiatives to recruit and retain volunteers and design targeted training and education for volunteers.

    + Provide direct care to residents when needed.

    + Perform other duties as assigned or required.

    About You:

    + One (1) to two (2) years’ experience in recreation therapy or a related field.

    + Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or a related field is preferred.

    + Working knowledge in gerontology, dementia, physiology and anatomy, and/or recreation therapy.

    + Valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification is preferred.

    + Valid Activity Director Certification, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Certification or other related professional certification/qualification per federal regulations.

    + Communication skills, interpersonal skills, customer service skills, team building skills and/or leadership skills.

    Nice to Have:

    + Experience in a senior living facility or long-term care environment

    + Must be a flexible, organized, show strong initiative, and possess the ability to handle multiple priorities

    + Have a confident and positive attitude while demonstrating strong attention to detail and enjoy interfacing with staff and residents.
