    Summary

    About the Position: Serves as an IT Specialist (NETWORK) with responsibility for participating in the installation, maintenance, testing, evaluation, and repair of local and campus area networks, advanced network communication devices, and equivalent media links for the Network Enterprise Center (NEC).

    Responsibilities

    Manage operations, modifications, upgrades, and services for the installation network (LAN/WAN routers and switches) systems.

    Plan, conduct, control and coordinate varied studies and analysis to meet operational needs for network systems.

    Manage the equipment/parts inventory/database for the installation network and ensure sufficient parts are on hand to deal with a major failure.

    Integrate data systems into computer local area networks/wide area networks (LAN/WAN).

    Responsible for evaluating operations in terms of meeting user needs, capabilities, costs, etc., and to ensure a high grade of service.

    Assist with testing new network data devices and/or equipment.

    Provide technical assistance in the use and maintenance of network and network-related software and facilities to LAN users to include informing users of new procedures, network capabilities, recent changes and upgrades.

    Performs all technical data networking tasks necessary to respond to higher headquarters data networking demands to include Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Regional Cyber Center (RNEC).

    This position is obligated.     Desired Skillset:
