    **Description**

    Highly skilled workers in the instrumentation/electrical craft who perform at or above a CCST/EPRI level II or equivalent. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the removal, repair, installation, troubleshooting, & diagnosis of process instrumentation & electrical systems. Employee may mentor or train other instrumentation/electrical employees. Employee will work under minimal supervision where the primary objective is safe production.

    + Removal, repair, installation, troubleshooting and diagnosis of process instrumentation and electrical systems for process optimization. May mentor or train other technicians and electrical workers.

    + Safe completion of routine and non-routine calibrations and repairs.

    + Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of pneumatic instruments, control valves, pressure, flow, level, temperature, weigh scales and analytical instrumentation.

    + Must have strong knowledge in the maintenance and troubleshooting of Programmable Logic Controllers, transmitter and control valve setup and diagnosis, electrical testing and loop checking.

    + Ability to perform installations and renovations compliant with regulatory agency standards.

    + Associates degree or Trade School Certification in the related field **and** two (2) years experience performing maintenance and repair of industrial automation, instrumentation, and electrical systems

    + Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude.     **_Position Description_**

    **_An employee who is a Journeyman and who performs all phases of construction, operation and maintenance of transmission and distribution overhead and underground lines in accordance with Company standards and other Company and/or governmental rules and regulations._**

    **_Position-Related Responsibilities_**

    + **_Guiding the work of Apprentices and Helpers working with him/her._**

    + **_Assembly of wood pole electrical lines and components._**

    + **_Installation of underground conduit systems._**

    + **_Installation of Underground Residential Distribution (URD) systems._**

    + **_Connection of all types of transformers and other equipment used on overhead and underground lines._**

    + **_Drive and operate all equipment to accomplish daily work and, and possess a CDL Operators license._**

    + **_Perform switching and install “hold tags” on the electrical systems, as required._**

    + **_Maintain a high level of awareness and responsibility for environmental considerations that impact them, their jobs and the Company to the level of their knowledge, training and experience._**

    + **_Perform emergency service restoration._**

    + **_This employee will be qualified to climb poles and operate aerial lifts and other construction equipment, and will be expected to work on energized equipment at any voltage level in conformance with training and safe work practices._**

    + **_Completion of an accredited Lineman/Cable Apprenticeship Program or equivalent_**

    + **_Uses technical knowledge of UES’s distribution system and policies to creatively solve problems dealing with both internal and external customers._**
