    This Distribution Center Mechanic contributes to REI’s success by ensuring that Distribution Center equipment repairs and maintenance are effectively accomplished to support the Co-op’s business initiatives and objectives. The DC Mechanic is responsible for scheduling, diagnosing, performing and documenting preventative maintenance, repairs and adjustments. Maintains inventory of equipment parts. This position also provides back-up for Facilities Maintenance functions requiring equipment maintenance and repairs. The DC Mechanic should model and act in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission. Here is what the DC Mechanic can expect to do on a daily basis:

    * Performs preventative maintenance and repair of DC equipment such as conveyors, scales, carousel systems, compactors, flow racks, pallet racks, shelving systems, pallet jacks, floor sweepers, order picking carts, batteries, chargers, and safety equipment; adjusts or repairs equipment; replaces and lubricates parts as needed.

    * Develops and maintains service records, including scheduled and actual maintenance; documents repair date, required repairs, parts or inventory souring, and cost.

    * Coordinates with DC supervisors, managers, vendors and contractors for the scheduling of repair and maintenance services.

    * Maintains appropriate inventory and supplies; assist in purchasing; orders, stocks, and documents inventory.

    * Serves as back-up for building maintenance; troubleshoots, repairs or replaces parts and equipment such as lights, ballasts, switches, outlets, fixtures, plumbing, HVAC systems; performs miscellaneous carpentry, painting, and janitorial duties as necessary.

    * Maintains ongoing relationships and serves as member on various committees to represent departmental and/or overall company interests; communicates company needs and expectations internally or externally; provides review, input and recommendations as appropriate.

    * 2+ years of journey level experience as an industrial mechanic, industrial electrician, conveyor installer or equivalent.

    Your Day in the Life as a Control Panel Builder

    Your day-to-day includes working with our Manufacturing and Engineering teams to ensure AeroSpec?s ISO certified quality is upheld while making schedule.     The work schedule for this position is flexible and will include working evenings, weekends and local travel, including overtime and on-call/call-backs as required.

    Duties and Responsibilities:


    * Perform electrical journey-level installation, repair, and maintenance of generators, transformers, circuits, wiring, and other electrical systems and equipment in accordance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations within commercial and industrial settings.
    * Maintain emergency power generators, fire and other systems.
    * Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations; including following safety practices such as lockout/tagout, NFPA 70E and proper use of PPE.
    * Design, plan, install and maintain industrial and commercial electrical systems within the college.
    * Assist in routine planned maintenance and emergency repairs of plant equipment including generators, panel boards, switchgear, MCCs and ATSs.
    * Install, troubleshoot, repair or replace electrical equipment and devices, AC and DC circuits, electrical sensors and switches, motors and safety circuits (120, 208, 240, 277 and 480V).
    * Complete all tasks as scheduled, conduct basic inventory, and document all work progress in computerized maintenance management system.
    * Provide excellent customer service to faculty, staff, administrators, and contractors
    * Communicate clearly both orally and in writing sufficient to receive and convey instructions to perform the duties of the job
    * Function as a team member, to include cross training with other operations and maintenance staff
