Air Reserve Technicians are full-time civilian employees who are also members of the Air Force Reserve unit in which they are employed. In addition to their civilian assignments, they are assigned to equivalent positions in the Reserve organization with a Reserve military rank or grade. Appointee's civilian assignments will consist of the following duties. Responsibilities The primary purpose of this position is to serve an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer to serve as the Senior ART/Maintenance Group Commander. In this capacity, the incumbent of this position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and controlling the activities and operations of the Maintenance Group. DUTIES: 1. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other group commanders, representatives and senior staff at Numbered Air Force, HQ AFRC, gaining MAJCOMs, and Air Staff. Meets with key customers and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve significant problems that arise. 4. Maintains surveillance and ensures effective operation of the maintenance program. Makes periodic and comprehensive assessment of program through a review of performance indicators, productivity goals and accomplishments, deficiency reports, audit findings, etc Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-12) or equivalent. Specialized experience which includes having comprehensive and detailed knowledge of planning, directing, organizing, coordinating maintenance activities and funding of aircraft maintenance functions. Mastery of advanced management and organizational principles and practices as well as comprehensive knowledge of organization, programs, missions, and functions of the Air Force reserve unit and thorough knowledge of the AFRC mission and functions. Expert knowledge of a wide range of analytical/investigative techniques and qualitative/quantitative methods to conduct comprehensive studies and make recommendations on substantive operating programs and policies. Ability to recognize interrelationships of the various aspects of operating programs and skill in interpreting and analyzing such information to evaluate overall program status and effectiveness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-12 or above grade/level or equivalent position in the federal service. Federal Time-In-Grade (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions: Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the next lower grade level or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral. This is an ART position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies. **Description:** Performs Maintenance, Repair, Launch, and Recovery activities on Partner and Foreign Military Sales F\-35 aircraft\. Ensures aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight\. Performs maintenance, inspections, and servicing requirements on all aircraft systems in accordance with Joint Technical Data \(JTD\) and all applicable program and service guidance\. The Avionics Technician installs, inspects, tests, adjusts, or repairs avionics equipment, such as radar, communications, navigation, and instrument systems assigned CBP aircraft.

Principal Accountabilities:

+ Troubleshoot, repair, and modify avionics, electrical and instrumentation systems installed on aircraft.

+ Solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar technical documents and/or drawings.

Minimum Requirements:

+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance. Note: US Citizenship required to obtain the clearance.

+ Must have a valid motor vehicle driver's license.

+ High school diploma or equivalent required.

+ Five (5) years of aircraft avionics/electrical related experience required.

+ Possess a high degree of knowledge and expertise in aircraft electrical/avionics systems.

+ Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/ technical manuals and publications, and special tools and test equipment.

+ Must be familiar with the operational capabilities and limitations of electrical / avionics systems.

+ Possess a thorough working knowledge of the detection, prevention, and treatment of corrosion.

+ Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate the English language and follow verbal and written instruction.

+ Must have basic computer data entry skills required for use of Custom Border Protection maintenance and logistics database.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

+ Requires sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.

+ Requires frequent climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, crouching, kneeling, lifting, carrying, balancing, and reaching above shoulder level, pushing or pulling weight up to 70 pounds.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Aircraft Mechanic to join our dynamic team, focusing on the F\-35 aircraft\. This position will serve as a subject\-matter expert on all facets of maintenance operations on the F\-35 airframe as part of a Quick\-Response Team designed to support pop\-up tasking/operations anywhere in the world\. Join Honeywell's Flight Operations department ensuring that aircraft are certifiably airworthy by overseeing and performing regular servicing and required repairs of avionic and mechanical equipment for safe aircraft operation. You will apply knowledge of aviation, regulations and intensive technical knowledge to diagnose, fix and maintain structural, mechanical and electronic elements of the aircraft and determine repair or replacement needs. You will analyze safety practices to ensure compliance with federal regulations. You will liaison with aircraft inspectors, flight and ground staff to lead the repairs/servicing of aircraft to ensure the safety of crew and passengers.

Key Responsibilities

+ Oversee aircraft repair and servicing

+ Inspect on-going maintenance

+ Engine and system testing

+ Troubleshoot and fix problems

+ Maintain repair logs, scheduling

+ Participate in flight testing and hanger operations

+ Implement quality and safety programs

+ Recommend repair/replacement

+ Revamp mechanical systems

+ Maintain ground support equipment

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

+ High School DiplomaAirframe and Power plant (A&P) license required
