    Position SummaryWith direct guidance in a team environment, responsible for operating one or more manual production machines working from blueprints, sketches and route sheets.

    + Make simple setups and perform repetitive manual machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, forming, drilling, reaming and smoothing parts. Make minor adjustments and report improper machine functioning or cutting action for correction.

    Your Day in the Life as a CNC Prototype Machinist

    Your day-to-day includes working with our Manufacturing and Engineering teams to ensure AeroSpec’s ISO certified quality is upheld while making schedule. You’ll review samples, drawings, and instructions to understand specifications of output, determine and program parts in our CAD CAM package, Surfcam, speed of machine, and you monitor the machine to adjust the feed, maintain temperature, and identify issues. Throughout the day, you will analyze and diagnose machining, programming, and tooling problems.

    Job Qualifications

    + Minimum of 5 years’ experience operating CNC Vertical Mills from HAAS or similar

    + Proficient reading blueprints and understanding specifications and GD&T.

    + Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

    + Experience with CAD programs such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks a plus.

    + Knowledge of programming Mills using SURFCAM or similar is a definite plus.

    + Manual mills and lathe experience a plus.
