Ironworkers Local Union 847 Apprenticeship Regional District Council Training Trust (RDCTT) with JD Steel Co. Inc, and West Wind Reinforcing, LLC are looking for Concrete Reinforcing Ironworkers ”Rodbusters" to place Concrete Reinforcing Steel (Rebar) and Post Tension Cable (PT) for cast in place concrete in heavy commercial / heavy industrial applications.
The Gladiator Training Program is a pre-apprenticeship program, that provides individuals interested in the “Concrete Reinforcing Steel Trade” an opportunity for a hands on experience in a classroom/shop environment, to make an educated decision as whether the Reinforcing “Rodbuster Trade” is what they would choose as a career. Our mission is to train the next generation of Reinforcing Iron Workers for the best chance to succeed in life through our free pre-apprenticeship Gladiator Training program. The Gladiator Training Program provides an opportunity to explore the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Trade, and then enter the Iron Workers two year apprenticeship program, which will set you up for an exciting and lucrative career with our signatory contractors with no college/school debt.
Our apprentices and journeymen have volunteered and participated for various community projects like the U.S.S. Arizona and the U.S.S. Missouri monuments at our State Capitol, and the Kurt & Brenda Warner Treasure House in Glendale, AZ.
Dependable, safety minded/conscious, self-motivated, knowledge of basic construction concepts, punctual, willing to learn, physically able to do the work, (carry 50+ lbs.) must have reliable transportation.
Our contractors require anyone who doesn't have "Rebar" experience to enter and complete our free Gladiator Training program which is a three day / 8 hour class (24 hours) hands on shop / class where basically everything you would do on a job site as a "Reinforcing Iron-worker Apprentice" in the first 6 months of employment on a job site, we pretty much cover in our training class. Upon completion they will indentured as an apprentice, become a member of IW Local 847 then sent to a contractor for an interview and drug test, when successful they will be hired as an apprentice at a minimum of $18 per hour with evaluations every 30 days for potential $1raises.
