The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Library Aide in the Downtown Branch.This is a regular part-time, non-exempt position with benefits.

This opportunity is only open to current City of Chandler employees.

LibraryChandler Public Library inspires intellectual discovery, creative entertainment, and life-long learning through robust information resources that connect communities to a world of k knowledge and new ideas. As a system of four libraries in all geographic areas of the community, and collection of nearly 500,000 books, DVDs, CDs and a wide variety of digital resources, we bring people, information, and ideas together to read, learn, connect, and succeed. Our libraries continuously reflect on the current and emerging needs of patrons and choose to advance literacy and champion inclusive learning experience for all people by fostering accessibility and embracing new technology.

Who we are looking forOur new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone with recent circulation experience in a public library setting. The schedule for this position would include at least one (1) evening and two (2) weekends per month.

Minimumqualifications


High school diploma or GED equivalency; andOne (1) year customer service experience involving frequent public contact; orAny equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work; and
Desired qualifications


Experience in a library setting with an automated library system.

This is a regular part-time position and is subject to a six (6) month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for four (4) months should another position become available.

The City of Chandler fingerprints all applicants, 18 years of age and older, selected for hire to evaluate the fitness of prospective employees.
