What you will do
Compiles accounting records to create various quarterly and annual SEC and FERC filings, including financial statements and accompanying footnotes, in a complex accounting environment to ensure timely completion of compliance with regulatory reporting requirements:
Prepares multi-level consolidating financial statements (income statement, indirect cash flow statement, balance sheet, and stockholders’ equity), ensuring compliance GAAP, FERC guidelines, and SEC requirements.
Assists in updating footnotes and other required disclosures.
As part of a team, leads quarterly reporting projects that are submitted to and/or used for presentation to executive management.
Participates in research and accounting treatment recommendations for new or proposed transactions and related disclosure requirements .
Build familiarity with activity of regulatory rule-making bodies such as FASB, SEC, FERC, etc. to identify new requirements.
Assists in development and documentation of new accounting procedures and/or modifications to existing procedures to enhance efficiency/effectiveness and maintain internal controls.
What you bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 24 units of accounting from an accredited institution.
Minimum two years of experience in accounting and/or auditing.
Preferred candidates will have public accounting experience and/or CPA candidate, experience with Oracle or equivalent ERP and/or Workiva platform and experience with Microsoft Suite, including intermediate Excel skills, and/or Adobe Acrobat tools.
