Records Management Administrator

The City of Chandler City Clerk’s Office in conjunction with the Law Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Records Management Administrator this is a regular full-time position with benefits. The position is scheduled to work Monday – Friday 8/5. With some flexibility after successful completion of initial probationary period.

Who we are:
The City Clerk’s Office and the Law Department work collaboratively on management of the City’s Records Program and addressing public record requests.

The City Clerk’s Office is responsible for providing support to the Mayor and City Council, and services to the community and City departments. The City Clerk’s Office conducts all municipal elections, administers the Council Agenda Management Program, the Boards and Commissions Program, the City’s Records Program, and is designated as a Passport Application Acceptance Facility.

The City of Chandler Law team provides verbal and written legal opinions to the City Council, City Manager, City departments, boards, and commissions. The Law Team drafts city ordinances, resolutions, leases, contracts, and other legal documents, and represents the city in all legal proceedings. The Law Team is made up of the civil division, the risk management division, and the prosecution division. There are numerous opportunities to work in different areas and expand each person’s skills. Who we are looking for:
The Records Management Administrator will manage and develop the City’s Records Management Program. The position will ensure consistent application of laws to meet statutory requirements for records storage, retention, disposition, destruction, and compliance with the State of Arizona public records laws and the requirements of the Arizona State Library and Public Records. The position is essential to implementing new and innovative records management technologies. The ideal candidate will be the City’s subject matter expert for records and information management, with the ability to exercise discretion, stay organized among competing priorities, and communicate clearly and effectively with other City staff and the public.

Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone that is highly skilled at managing and developing the City’s Record Management Program. Providing supervision to staff, consulting and collaborating with the City Attorney, the City Clerk, and the Information Technology (IT) Department.

Minimum qualifications


Bachelor’s degree in government studies, Public Administration, or a related field; and 3 years of record management experience including one (1) year of supervisory experience; and Certified Records Manager (CRM) within 2 years of hire or promotion; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired qualifications


Experience developing an enterprise-wide records management program, and the supervision of the day-to-day operations of records management functions.Experience administering an Electronic Document Management System.Experience in Project Management and leading project teams to meet city-wide goals.
This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
