POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Statewide Clinical Director, the Licensed Associate Counselor will contribute to the implementation, growth and development of MIKID services provided in Arizona. The position of Licensed Associate Counselor at MIKID involves multifaceted responsibilities aimed at ensuring the highest quality of clinical services and support for individuals and families. Here's a breakdown of the essential job functions and requirements:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Maintain the quality of clinical services through individual and group efforts.
Provide regular documented reports to the Clinical Director on program services.
Act as a liaison between MIKID and funding sources, other agencies, clients, and the community.
Participate in internal and external committees and meetings.
Offer various services to clients and the public, including information and referral, intake interviews, crisis intervention, and counseling.
Coordinate admission and discharge of clients, and provide counseling in various settings.
Utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Trauma Informed Care (TIC) effectively.
Provide short-term crisis intervention, diagnose mental and emotional disorders, develop treatment plans, and assist in accessing necessary resources.
Ensure accurate clinical records meeting standards and regulations.
Coordinate quality management, access to care, and manage program statistical data.
Review assessments and service plans for appropriateness.
Provide consultation and support to staff, participate in clinical oversight, and handle after-hours clinical services.
Provide oversight, training, and direction for incident reports, and attend meetings as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree required.
Associate license required, LASAC preferred, LAC or LMSW with substance use experience.
Licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners preferred.
Bilingual preferred (Spanish).
Generalist knowledge in mental health, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and serious mental illness.
Must be 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license and ability to work flexible schedules.
Basic typing/computer skills and experience in Tele-Health Services are important.
Ability to attend entry-level supervision continuing education within six months of assuming position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIROMENT

Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time, operate a computer, and communicate effectively.
Occasionally move about inside the office, ascend/descend stairs, and travel for up to 6 hours in a day.
