Job Summary:

Modeling & Simulation is looking for a Systems Engineer II to serve as a HACM Simulation Team Member. In this role, you will participate in multi-disciplinary work across integrated product teams consisting of Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), Signal Processing, Rocket Motor, Mechanical, and missile-and-sensor-level Performance Simulations. Our Performance Simulation teams provide, develop, and maintain high fidelity performance simulations, evaluate system performance, support new business initiatives and develop & implement technology roadmaps.

Please note: We are not seeking engineers with an AutoCAD or 3-D modeling background or network modeling from an IT perspective.

This is an Onsite role in Tucson, Arizona

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

+ You will work within a multi-discipline team (e.g. Guidance, Navigation, and Control, signal processing, mechanical design) to design and develop differing levels of fidelity simulation models which represent the components of a system

+ You will read, debug, edit and create computer programming code to enhance simulation models, creating and executing unit tests on the models to verify functionality, documenting the design and test results, and integrating with other component models in a complex system simulation environment.

+ You will execute simulations in a high-performance computing environment, which can include the use of Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), to support missile system design/trade studies, performance assessment, and system test

+ You will work within a team to develop analysis of the data for the specific task as well as provide insight and understanding of the system performance, recognizing, and troubleshooting any anomalies observed in the simulation results

+ You will ensure the solutions provided meet their defined requirements and function as needed through rigorous verification and validation

Basic Qualifications:

+ Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and two (2) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in the following areas:

+ Experience coding in C++

+ Experience using software such as MATLAB or Python for analysis of data sets

+ Experience in modeling, simulation, statistics, or analysis as related to understanding the behavior and performance of existing or proposed engineering solutions.

+ Experience using MissileKit

+ Experience working independently.

+ An active and current Department of Defense Security Clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM degree

+ Experience with Unix and/or Linux operating systems

+ Experience with MissileKit 2.

+ Experience or course work in radar, signal & image processing, digital communications, control theories, estimation theory and/or electro optics

+ Experience applying physics, random variables, and their application in solving engineering problems

+ Experience communicating with project leads and customers

+ Experience working with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

+ Current/Active DoD security clearance

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
