**About this role:**

Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our Technology organization and be part of our Chief Technology Office's (CTO) Engineering Enablement team. Learn more about the career areas and lines of business at wellsfargojobs.com .

You will be an expert in a related set of technologies within our security scan tool stack, associated engineering and integration needs. As one of these experts, for your area of expertise, you will set technical standards and direction, mentor other Lead Software Engineers and roll up your sleeves to tackle the most difficult challenges.

**In this role, you will:**

+ Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups

+ Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas of the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking

+ Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions, both strategic and tactical

+ Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions

+ Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization

+ Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership

**Required Qualifications:**

+ 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

+ 7+ years of experience with Java, 12-factor/CIoud Native development, Kafka GraphQL, Groovy, Golang, React, Node.js and Python development

+ 7+ years of experience with engineering and implementing Compliance as code and integrating this framework with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines at enterprise scale

+ 5+ years of experience with secure DevOps and deployment automation to cloud environments

+ Development expertise in the Jenkins Domain Specific Language dialect of Groovy

+ In depth architecture, engineering and development knowledge of cloud based microservices written in Java, Spring Boot, NoSQL DB, Mongo DB, MarkLogic

+ Experience delivering solutions using modern continuous integration (CI) solutions, such as GitHub Actions, Gitlab, Jenkins, Harness CI, Artifactory, Terraform, Secrets Vault

**Desired Qualifications:**

+ An industry-standard technology certification & Cloud certification

+ Experience with one or more Test Frameworks, Capabilities & Tools: Junit, Nunit, TestNG, Selenium, Appium, Lambda; Test Driven Development (TDD); Behavioral Driven Development (BDD): Cucumber/Gherkin

+ 6+ years of experience with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum preferred)

+ 7+ years of experience in software architectures including traditional three-tier and container-based microservices (Kubernetes preferred)

+ 4+ years of experience designing applications hosted in the public cloud (Azure preferred)

+ Knowledge and understanding of application or software security such as web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysis

+ Fluency with modern monitoring and logging systems (Azure Monitor, Dynatrace, Splunk, AppDynamics)

+ Familiarity with Jira and expressing non-functional requirements as stories

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills

+ Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

**Job Expectations:**

+ Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening

+ This position offers a hybrid work schedule

+ Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
