Annual Salary Range:
Social Services Coordinator+: $69,542 - $92,839
Sr. Social Services Coordinator+: $74,877 - $99,961

This position is part of a flexible classification. Qualified candidates may be hired at either level based on their experience, education and training as determined by the hiring authority.

DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate, and oversee specialized activities, services, programs, and the facilities relative to the EnVision Center within the City of Tempe’s Community Health & Human Services Department. This position is responsible for developing and implementing plans to promote and expand economic mobility for low to moderate income Tempeans, and formalizing the participation of community stakeholders to include other City Departments and external community based organizations in these endeavors. This position will also provide direct service self-sufficiency case coordination to individuals and families seeking this level of self-sufficiency support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience:
Social Services Coordinator+:
Requires two (2) years of experience providing social service programs.

Sr. Social Services Coordinator+:
Requires two (2) years of experience in the implementation and coordination of educational, human service or social programs and activities according to the requirements of the assigned area, including one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant’s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.

Education:
Both Levels:
Requires equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, early childhood education, social work, sociology, psychology, education, or degree related to the core functions of this position. A master's degree is preferred.

The term “equivalent” means that directly related work experience exceeding the required work experience will substitute in equal time increments for college-level education, for example: one year of additional directly related work experience will substitute for one year of college education (30 credit hours).

Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
Both Levels:
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• May require the possession of, or required to obtain within six (6) months of hire, CPR certification.
