**Overview**

**_What You’ll Be Doing_**

Cadmus seeks a motivated professional to provide key support to transportation, equity, and urban planning projects. The Urban Planning Analyst will play a pivotal role supporting clients with large, place-based technical assistance design and delivery to communities across the country. For example, this could include building the capacity of communities to design and delivery transportation reconnection projects by removing, retrofitting, or mitigating transportation facilities like highways or rail lines that create barriers to community connectivity, including to mobility, access, or economic development. The Urban Planning Analyst will be working on identifying the range of infrastructure solutions to reconnect communities through community engagement, surveys, research, modeling, analysis, and drafting reports that will support municipal governments and community-based organizations in identifying and advancing community reconnection efforts, advising on resources and strategic partnerships, and undertaking and completing planning studies.

Likely activities for the position may include:

+ Supporting transportation planning processes, such as participatory planning; performance-based planning; transportation scenario analysis, comprehensive planning, and federal statewide/metropolitan planning and programming.

+ Assessing impacts of proposed interventions on traffic patterns, modeling existing transportation networks, and developing transportation demand models.

+ Developing strategies to manage impacts through land use, housing, transportation alternatives, and should be aware of tools to engage in meaningful public involvement for equity projects.

+ Assessing impacts from transportation projects on safety, equity, environment, economic, and other community impacts that support environmental review.

+ Supporting strategies to get buy-in from state and regional planning organizations.

+ Providing support for NEPA-related analyses and assessment.

+ Developing statewide transportation investment plans and long-range planning documents,

+ Executing environmental and pre-engineering studies, including design and engineering of innovative, multi-modal transportation infrastructure.

**Responsibilities**

+ Complete work assigned by project managers in a timely and high-quality fashion.

+ Provide technical value to clients around clean transportation topics.

**Qualifications**

**Required Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in transportation, urban planning, or working with disadvantaged communities. We will also consider other internships or work experience that demonstrates independent decision-making, customer-interfacing responsibilities, and mentoring/training of others. A Masters degree in one of the related areas will substitute for the two years of work experience.

+ Strong analytical and computer skills, including GIS, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

+ Ability to work in a team environment.

+ Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

+ Strong interpersonal skills (you will interact with employees, consultants, partners, clients, subcontractors, and vendors).

+ Strong writing skills, particularly for communicating complex, technical material in a clear, succinct, and readable manner.

+ Recent graduates and individuals interested in transportation, urban planning, and equity are encouraged to apply.

+ Occasional travel may be required.

+ Candidates will be required to obtain a Public Trust, Suitability or a Security Clearance, depending on contract - US Citizenship is required.

**Additional Information:**

Based on eligibility and job status, Cadmus offers an excellent benefits package to include: medical, dental, vision, company paid disability and life insurance, 401(k) program, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, voluntary time off (VTO), tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance program, other optional benefits and various bonus programs.

The minimum starting salary for this position is $60,000. The actual salary may be higher and will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
