The **_BNI Neurosurgery_** Department consists of 11 Operating Room suites with advanced technology, which supports and allows the Barrow Neurological Institute Neurosurgeons to perform the most complex spine and brain surgeries in the world.

**Responsibilities**

The Surgical Tech assists physicians and nurses during surgical procedures and in preparation for surgery in order to deliver safe competent care to our patients. Responsible for maintaining the sterile field being constantly vigilant that the scrubbed members of the team adhere to aseptic/sterile technique. Assembles and processes sterile instrument trays and equipment. Expedites the operative procedure by anticipating the needs of the Surgeon. Provides procedural circulating support. Performs instrument sponge and equipment counts. Identifies and responds to advanced clinical issues as well as serves as a resource to other staff

**Responsibilities**

+ Prepare for assigned surgical procedures with proper instrumentation and sterilization

+ Navigate the nuances of surgical procedures and surgeons you’ll be supporting

+ Adapt to the needs of emergency situations

+ Provide clean-up and turnover of operating room to prepare for next patient

**Qualifications**

**Minimum**

+ Minimum of four (4) years clinical experience as a surgical technologist

**Preferred**

+ Surgical Tech Program Graduate preferred

+ Preferred - Graduate of accredited surgical technologist program and certified as a surgical technologist

+ CT - ORT and four (4) years clinical experience

**Pay Range**

$29.16 - $42.28 /hour
