Summary

The Successful Mobile Developer (Energy/IT Solutions Analyst II/III/Sr) is responsible for software and hardware product delivery and performance for all application spaces including next generation technology such as cloud engineering and mobile applications.

What your day would be like:

+ Drive products from design completion to volume production release through lifecycle including troubleshooting software and system problems to ensure performance and reliability

Minimum Requirements

Mobile Developer (Energy/IT Solutions Analyst II)

+ Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field and 2 years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience

+ Requires basic technical subject matter knowledge within a job area or system

Mobile Developer (Energy/IT Solutions Analyst III)

+ Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field and 5 years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.

+ Requires strong technical knowledge within a job area or system and basic knowledge across related technical areas

Mobile Developer (Energy/IT Solutions Analyst Senior)

+ Bachelors' degree in Information Technology or related field and 7 years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.

+ Requires in-depth technical knowledge within a job area or system and basic knowledge across related technical areas

Technical Skills

+ Experience with Agile software development and DevOps. Also experience with Azure DevOps and Azure Cloud

+ Knowledge of mobile programming languages (C#, Java, ObjectiveC), database management systems (Azure SQL \ Oracle \ Micorosft SQL), development platforms (Xamarin, ReactNative), and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).

+ Competence in the three primary operating systems – Android, iOS, and Windows

+ Core experience in User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI)

+ Knowledge of entire mobile tech stack (front end/client-side, integrations/APIs, back end/server-side). Proficient in writing automated tests and performing all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle including app testing and test driven development

Soft Skills

+ Skills in understanding and explaining highly technical issues and solutions in non-technical terms; working effectively in teams and across organizations; balancing and prioritizing between multiple work streams; collaborating with colleagues and teams in different fields across a diverse organization; solving advanced complex problems in own area of work

+ Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills. Self-driven and accountable with the ability to take initiative without being prompted

+ Understanding of mobile app consumer behaviors

+ Creative and innovative. Willing to challenge status quo and provide new solutions

Major Accountabilities

1. Mobile/web app development lifecycle activities

+ Understand the client’s requirements

+ Discuss the client’s requirements with colleagues on how best to deliver the job

+ Ensure new applications meet quality standards

+ Working in synergy with others to constantly innovate app functionality and design

+ Application testing

+ Writing code, managing pipelines

+ Troubleshooting, Bug fixing

+ Ensure improvement in application performance

+ Ensure continuous evaluation, discovery, implementation, and the maintenance of new technologies to maximize the efficiency of development

+ Ensure that every application undergoes testing for usability, robustness, and general reliability

+ Recommend periodic changes and enhancements to mobile applications

+ Ensure constant interactions with other departments within an organization as regards new deployments.

+ Support production applications, including managing/resolving incidents/bugs, and enhancement

2. Stay current with industry trends and provide recommendations on best practices in mobile/web app development

3. Help develop, implement and improve the Enterprise Mobility Strategy

4. Identify opportunities for foundational technology improvements and help implement solutions

Flex Role:

This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work. Employees will have two options to choose from:

+ APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.

+ Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.

*Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.
