Position Summary:

This is a Department of Nursing Service position that requires the delivery of patient care with the knowledge of a Registered Nurse. The primary duty is to facilitate and control Patient Flow Duties within the hospital, assuring that patients are moved efficiently to units assigned. This role supports and serves as CNO representative in the absence of the Nursing Administration. Completes required documentation and participates in discharge planning, effectively utilizing the Nursing Process.

Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer

x Associates degree required

Previous bed placement and house supervisor experience preferred.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must possess the ability to effectively function in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective human relations skills are required for interfacing with team members, all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and other contacts. Must possess the ability to use the following equipment; Telephone/Overhead Paging System/Fax Machine/Calculator/Computer. As pertinent to the position, must be able to use computer, telephone, calculator and adapt to new technology as it becomes available and necessary for the job. Must have a positive attitude, even temperament in stress/conflict situations.

Licenses:
Valid Arizona or Compact States nursing license required on hire.

Certifications:
x Basic Life Support (BLS) on hire (If ACLS is current, BLS is not required).
x Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) with 6 months of hire
x Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred
X Moderate and Deep sedation preferred
