**About this role:**
Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer to join our Technology organization and be part of our Chief Technology Office (CTO). Learn more about the career areas and business divisions at wellsfargojobs.com .
You will bring your Technologist, Engineer, and Architecture experience to this Technology Lifecycle Management Principal Engineer position as you lead and drive strategy and processes. You will connect level 2 products to level 3 product architecture and engineering work while coordinating with multiple teams and efforts across the organization.
You will make an impact by aligning technology initiatives with the strategic direction as you identify and address technical debt to improve overall system health and efficiency while mentoring a geologically distributed technical team.
**In this role, you will:**
+ Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, experience journey, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
+ Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
+ Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
+ Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
+ Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
+ Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
**Required Qualifications:**
+ 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
+ 7+ years of experience with Java or .NET technologies
**Desired Qualifications:**
+ 2+ years of experience in Azure Cloud
+ 2+ years of experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
+ 2+ years of experience in security
+ 2+ years of experience in front end development
+ 5+ years of development experience
+ Strong experience in pair programming and coaching
+ Knowledge of Elastic Stack
+ Experience with Agile practices and frameworks

**Pay Range:**
