Principal Supplier Quality Engineer

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona (AZ).Responsibilities:

* Conduct capability assessments. Verify supplier qualifications, travel to assigned suppliers, and lead multiple projects to completion

* Define and manage process controls, establish schedules for reviewing supplier and quality performance

* Maintain accurate quality records and certifications

* Identify technical problems with suppliers and implement corrective actions

* Issues, monitors and maintains corrective action database resolve problems using Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) tools

* Measure suppler readiness throughout the new product development stages

* Supports and drives continuous improvement activities to improve supplier performance

* Identify/mitigate supply chain risks recommend mitigations and contingencies

* Use quality tools to develop strategic objectives and tactical implementation for different process elements to improve, measure, monitor supplier performance

* Improve supplier performance (i.e. quality, delivery and costs) through process optimization using process analysis and development tools by driving continuous improvement within supplier operations through deployment of development plans

* Establish and maintain a qualified and preferred supply base

* Assess and communicate technical risks and mitigation associated with the supply base

* Implement supplier scorecard and work with supply base to improve performance

* Create development plans and metrics for key suppliers

* Establish schedules and perform required supplier audits

* Company is in an electrical, PCB, CCA, PWBA environment

* Establish planning expectations with suppliers for new product development. Develop core partnerships to accelerate lead times

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or similar degree

* ASQ Certification a plus

* At least 10 years of experience in Supplier Quality Development (or similar position) and/or equivalent experience

* Experience in the Aerospace or Avionics Industry is a plus

* Leadership experience is highly desired

* Working knowledge of Six Sigma Improvement techniques, ISO/AS9100 program requirements, and continuous improvement techniques applicable to supplier improvement

* Electronic and Mechanical experience preferred

* Strong communication skills to make progress reports and present their findings to the supervisor in their department with little direction and oversight

* They must be problem solvers who use their advanced analytical skills to find innovative solution to quality-related issues

* Proficient communicator both written and verbal

* Experience working with systems and process in a manufacturing environment

* Excellent analytical skills capable of making decisions

* Strong facilitation skills

* Knowledge and experience with Continuous Improvement Methodologies (6 Sigma, Lean Mfg)

* Experience conducting supplier quality audits

* Self-starting, minimal supervision required

* Lean manufacturing experience
