This position can be filled at either the Principal Engineer (level 3) or Sr Principal Engineer level (level 4).
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total Space Vehicle systems to launch vehicle. This includes Ground Operations Plans, Missile Prelaunch Safety Package, Hazard Analyses, and AFPSCMAN 91-710 tailoring and compliance.
Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints as part executing a launch campaign, including ground operations and mission integration planning.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer, range safety, and system requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Engages with external stakeholders and support launch services procurement with providers such as Blue Origin, United Launch Alliance, SpaceX, Northrop Grumman, Rocket Lab, etc.
5+ years experience (level 3) or 9+ years experience (level 4)
12+ years and Master's degree
