This role will be based out of our Phoenix Data Center.

The Data Center Critical Environments HVAC technician primarily performs preventative and corrective maintenance for all HVAC equipment on site, at the direction of the lead HVAC tech. This will include operating HVAC equipment as needed to ensure 24/7 reliability. Secondarily, the HVAC technician will work with the other HVAC staff to monitor HVAC operations using the site BMS. This is a day shift position which includes being available 24/7 for HVAC repair and recovery as needed.

What you'll get to do...

+ Operate, maintain, monitor and repair all facets of primary/owned data center mechanical equipment including the central plant (water-cooled, air cooled). Types of HVAC equipment: CRAHs, CRACs, AHUs, MAUs, FCUs, supply fans, exhaust fans, WSHPs, pumps and associated motors, RO system, cooling towers, chillers (assist as needed), plate and frame system, valves and piping systems and humidifiers.

+ Work with lead HVAC tech and management, general contractor and consultants on projects, TI build outs, projects or large construction ventures as needed.

+ Able to perform high level troubling shooting on critical mechanical and controls for all HVAC equipment.

+ Operate and maintain all critical environment systems in server, MDF and IDF rooms.

+ Assist with monitoring site BMS and address alarm situations as directed: WebCTRL and Andover.

+ Submit ServiceNow and JIRA tickets as needed. This to include access requests, work change orders and Incident Reports.

+ Define customer needs and communicate plan/schedule to our customers: DC operations, networking, storage, business continuity, NOC etc.

+ Able to work a flexible work schedule when needed (deployments, emergency calls; off shift)

+ Maintain records as advised: Service slips, manuals, as-builds, blueprints, refrigerant program, checklist, daily operation logs, purchase spreadsheet, etc.

+ Able to manage one’s self while performing maintenance, make decisions within job responsibilities/scope in the Critical facilities industry, high risk environment with in a fast-paced environment.

Your experience should include...

+ HVAC trade school and/or comparable field experience in related field

+ 8-10 years’ experience in HVAC trade

+ Data center experience a plus

+ Familiarity with York and Daikin chillers a plus

+ Familiarity with Liebert HVAC a plus

+ Knowledge of commercial HVAC electrical systems and facility operations

+ Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and decision-making skills

+ Positive attitude and self motivated

+ Strong computer skills: Proficient with M/S office programs and email

+ Physical Stamina and agility to stand, walk, climb up and down ladders, be able to lift 50 lbs and engage in similar physical activities as necessary to access all areas of facilities to operate, repair and maintain HVAC equipment.
