Your Day in the Life as a CNC Prototype Machinist
Your day-to-day includes working with our Manufacturing and Engineering teams to ensure AeroSpec’s ISO certified quality is upheld while making schedule. You’ll review samples, drawings, and instructions to understand specifications of output, determine and program parts in our CAD CAM package, Surfcam, speed of machine, and you monitor the machine to adjust the feed, maintain temperature, and identify issues.

Throughout the day, you will analyze and diagnose machining, programming, and tooling problems. A portion of this role will be responsible for performing first article, in-process, and finished work inspections on machined parts.

Job Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience operating CNC Vertical Mills from HAAS or similar
• Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in quality control and understanding of manufacturing QA processes and procedures
• Proficient reading blueprints and understanding specifications and GD&T.
• Work with a full range of inspection precision measuring instruments and special equipment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 practices
• Experience with CAD programs such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks a plus.
• Knowledge of programming Mills using SURFCAM or similar is a definite plus.
• Manual mills and lathe experience a plus.
