# Job Description


WSP USA’s Plumbing Engineers coordinate closely with professionals from other disciplines around the world working on high-profile national and international projects with a focus on sustainability and energy performance of the built environment. You will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the concept design phase through the final construction close-out.


# Job Duties and Responsibilities



+ Exemplify well-developed advanced experience in plumbing discipline

+ Present complex technical solutions to clients

+ Review system layouts for compliance with building code and NFPA codes and standards

+ Assist with coordinating and managing project teams and projects

+ Lead the development of initial plumbing and fire protection system concepts

+ Design plumbing and fire protection systems

+ Develop work plans to address technical issues within project time and budget


+ Calculate preliminary water, gas, sanitary/sewer and storm loads for utility coordination

+ Review architectural drawings for compliance with building and safety code requirements

+ Survey and evaluate existing conditions

+ Perform tasks related to construction administration

+ Develop project specifications

+ Provide input on estimates for project schedules and resources

+ Approve and sign off on work


+ Attend and participate in team and/or project meetings

+ Attend client meetings and work to develop solid client relationships

+ Coordinate and communicate with multi-discipline project teams to develop drawing and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors, and building owners

+ Propose creative solutions to complex problems as part of a team

+ Manage and/or mentor junior staff

+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

+ Other duties as required by business needs


# Job Requirements


**Required Qualifications include:**

+ Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent

+ 10+ years of experience

+ LEED AP Certification


+ Innovative design experience related to renewable energies and sustainable, high performing buildings

+ Ability to interact well with others as well as develop and manage high quality technical and professional deliverables on projects and proposals

+ Highly skilled in ability to use Revit 15 (or later) or AutoCAD 14 (or later)

+ Experience in designing plumbing systems for the built environment

+ Attention to detail and highly organized

+ Strong working knowledge of building, plumbing, and fire protection systems and codes

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to develop professional relationships with clients

+ Participates in conference programs including panels, poster sessions, papers and presentations

Preferred Qualifications or “Great to Haves” include:

+ Essential License (e.g., P.E.), as applicable

+ Post graduate education (Graduate level courses, Master’s Degree, or Ph.D.)
