Accounting Manager

Elite Roofing Supply is recruiting for an Accounting Manager who will play a vital role in the success of this fast-growing company. This individual must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess a great attitude and team player mentality. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Manager will own the general ledger process and lead and oversee a team of Senior and Staff Accountants through the day-to-day processes and month-end close.


+ Supervise and mentor a team of Senior and Staff Accountants

+ Delegate projects and direct staff to ensure timely completion and accuracy

+ Oversee and manage the general ledger accounting functions

+ Drive timely and accurate month-end close process

+ Prepare monthly financial statements and variance reporting for Assistant Controller’s review

+ Manage day-to-day accounting processes

+ Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, cash transactions, and balance sheet account reconciliations

+ Prepare all payroll and employee benefit related journal entries

+ Reconcile all payroll and employee benefit related balance sheet accounts

+ Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvement

+ Back-up for preparation of wires and ACH payments to vendors

+ Coordinate annual external audit support and documentation

+ Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested

+ Develop and maintain excellent, collaborative working relationships with cross-functional teams within headquarters and branches

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or CPA candidate a plus

+ Minimum five years of progressive accounting and supervisory experience in a fast-paced, growing environment

+ Advanced knowledge of Excel

+ Thorough knowledge of GAAP

+ Experience with DMSi Agility or similar ERP accounting systems (Sage, Microsoft Dynamics)

+ A quick learner, self-starter and able to work independently and as part of a team

+ Excellent communication, written, and oral skills

+ Can take on multiple projects/tasks and problem solve

+ Ability to follow up on pending issues and meet deadlines
