This role will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. In-depth knowledge and experience are required across multiple technology disciplines with the ability to define, support, and enhance IT infrastructure and associated services in alignment with IT strategy and business objectives.

A direct report to the Director of IT Engineering, the IT Windows Systems Engineer is responsible for:


Essential Functions: Responsibilities of the IT Windows Systems Engineer include but are not limited to:

• Maintain and support multi-site windows environments along with respective hardware and software configurations

• Manage GPO, Windows group policy settings, managing Windows Active Directory

• Apply security patch management and perform server monitoring

• Install, configure, and support all Windows server based business applications

• Integrate the server automation process either by custom scripts such as PowerShell or via third-party solutions

• Implement regular checks for the status of servers including hardware and software

• Work heavily in a virtualized environment administrating VMWare

• Procuring Hardware equipment and/or software and managing subcontractors involved with installation

• Arranging scheduled upgrades for Windows, VMWare, and Storage

• Updating Nimble/Netapp Storage to the latest firmware releases

• Reporting Windows Systems status to key stakeholders

• Part of 24/7 on call rotation

• Work closely with applications and infrastructure teams on various projects/initiatives

• Evaluate and recommend new and emerging products and technologies

• Proactive in identifying Windows Systems improvements for current or future projects

• Minimum 5 years related experience in functional area

• Solid understanding and working competency with at least 3 of the following:

• Intune


• PowerShell

• Azure

• Active Directory

• Exchange

• O365

• Preferred experience with Citrix

• Experience with NAS/SAN such as Netapp, Nimble

• Solid understanding of Backup solutions such as Veeam

• Solid understanding of running a Virtualized environment

• Experience with cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, and general IaaS, SaaS, PaaS deployments) with a focus on M365

• Hands on experience of security patch management, server monitoring, and Disaster Recovery practices

• Strong knowledge of Anti-Virus / Anti-Spyware technologies

• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

• Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment

• Strong customer service skills

• Experience supporting business development activities

• Strong project management skills

• Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

• Relevant industry certifications preferred such as MCITP, MCSA, MCSE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
