This Senior Software Engineer position is responsible for analysis, design, implementation, and unit testing to produce and maintain high-quality software solutions. You will have a senior role within an existing product group, responsible for data transformation, document production, and content management.

This requisition is part of the Pearson/MZD team, which develops innovative assessment technology platforms. These platforms are used to create and deliver exams, score responses, and report results. We are now building our next-generation assessment ecosystem - a multi-year project with enormous strategic value, leveraging state-of-the-art technologies and processes. We are looking for outstanding candidates to bolster the staff of this critical project.

**You will:**

+ Develop and support data transformation solutions leveraging XSLT, Java, and JavaScript

+ Operate, extend and create cloud-based solutions in AWS

+ Contribute to the “evolution in place” of existing enterprise applications toward new technologies, platforms, and open-source solutions

+ Develop and maintain code using best practices for maintainability, performance, security, and verifiability

+ Possess the ability to quickly learn new processes, tools, and business domains

**Required Education and Experience**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline, or equivalent on-the-job training

+ 5+ years relevant software development experience creating SaaS applications

+ Experience with development, maintenance, and testing of software, following industry best practices

+ Experience with highly available, highly concurrent cloud-based Web applications

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

The minimum full-time salary range is between $120k - $130k.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $145K - $182K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. The Target Pay Range for this position is $110,900.00-$135,600.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $86,100.00 - $160,300.00 annually. In this role, you will be responsible for owning the HR Systems and Ancillary Application team. The HR Systems team works closely with the HRIS Team to support the Association’s Workday Platform.

Workday Responsibilities include Workday Integrations, Workday BIRT Reporting, Workday Studio and Workday Prism. The Ancillary Applications include 15-20 internal systems used by internal teams that include: HR, Legal, Procurement, Communications, CEO Office and Finance.
